the beetle

this project was part of a "ceramics and glass production lines and duplications" course taken during my third year in Bezalel art and design academy, in which i have decided to create vessels inspired by beetles.
my fascination with nature tends to be mostly figurative- the shapes and colors found in nature rather than their biology, its the detailed work of a creator as an artist that truly inspires me- not one thing repeated, each creation unique.
i see the irony in the attempt of recreating this in the technique of duplication, and if i had a bigger time frame to truly develop this project, perhaps i would've been able to do the idea behind it justice, but alas, what was done is satisfactory enough for me considering the circumstances.
